Public hearing re: allowing taller buildings in Lake Country

A public hearing will be held Tuesday, April 16 regarding multi-storey and mixed use development on Lake Country’s Main Street.

In accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act a public hearing will be held Tuesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. in the District of Lake Country Municipal Hall, 10150 Bottom Wood Lake Rd.,  to hear representation on zoning Amendments to Bylaw 852, 2013 (Z2013-003).

This Amendment would  encourage multi-storey and mixed use development on Lake Country’s Main Street  and it is hoped that by removing the amenity fee (Table 7.1 in Zoning Bylaw 561) and providing a tax incentive (Bylaw 853) that developers will be encouraged to construct taller buildings that would help meet the District of Lake Country’s density objectives for the area.
