Friends and family of Cassy Miller are in mourning this weekend upon learning of her death.

“As a result of the investigation to date, RCMP do not believe that criminality was involved in (Miller’s) death,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. “As such, the BC Coroners Service have now taken the lead on the investigation into (Miller’s) sudden death.”

On Nov. 16 around 9 p.m. Kelowna RCMP were following up on an active person’s investigation when they located Miller’s body in Rutland. Kelowna RCMP are now working alongside BC Coroners Service

Family and friends put posters up over the downtown area asking for anyone with information about Miller’s whereabouts to contact them.

Her friend, Ashleigh Blanke who took the calls described Miller as a caring mother who had many people who loved her.

In death, she’s been the subject of countless online tributes, where she is described as a “beautiful soul” who treated people with kindness and was quick to have a laugh.

Kelowna RCMP both in uniform and plain clothes along with the detachment’s Missing Person Co-ordinator followed up on many tips from the public about possible sightings.
