More than three weeks since residents of Parker’s Cove were forced out of their homes by flooding and they can finally return.

All evacuation orders have been lifted as of 9 a.m. Thursday, May 25.

The Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) issued orders May 2, which were further expanded, as Whiteman’s Creek overflowed and raged down residential streets.

The floods caused significant damage to some homes, although the full extent is still under assessment.

The OKIB Emergency Operations Centre has put together a small re-entry information package to help residents. The package contains info on first re-entry steps, how to clean your home, where to dispose sandbags at and more.

The OKIB ESS Center is open today 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to hand out re-entry information packages and Red Cross cleaning kits at #8 Bonneau Rd., one per household (while supplies last).
