As Okanagan Lake continues to rise, residents are shocked at how the beach front in Penticton is changing due to flooding water.
Just off Kingfisher Drive, those out for a morning stroll were greeted by the unusual sight of beavers and carp swimming on what used to be a park area.
The former grassy beach has several park benches and tables that are now underwater — creating a new home for fish.
Ducks also seem to be unconcerned with the rising levels as many were seen floating along side large trees and wooden debris in the Lake.
Passing residents were concerned as the flood waters leaked onto a walking trail behind the homes off Kingfisher Drive.
Sandbags are being placed along the trail; however City of Penticton crews anticipate flooding will come to a head Tuesday afternoon as temperatures reach 30 C.
