Fire in OK Centre

The Lake Country fire department responded to a report of a chimney fire at a water front residence in the 11000 block Okanagan Center road west last Tuesday around noon. First crews arriving on scene found the fire was actually burning in the living room walls and had extended up through the second floor into the attic space. Crews managed to contain it to those areas however preliminary damage estimates are pegged at $200,000 by their insurance company. Two fire trucks and a command unit responded with twelve firefighters no injuries were sustained by either the occupants or firefighters.
