Hundreds of butterflies are set to take flight this weekend for the Central Okanagan Hospice Association’s annual Butterfly Effect event at Falcon Ridge Farms.

“A special event that you can’t miss. To watch the butterflies spread their wings and fly into the sky to remember and honour the people who have touched our lives is such a magical and special experience,” said Natasha Girard, executive director of the hospice association.

The Butterfly Effect is an event for the whole family to enjoy and have fun. Come out and enjoy the Valley First Community Crew kids zone, cartoon art, local entertainment and great food by local artisans.”

As part of this unique event, 35 butterflies will be released to celebrate the Central Okanagan Hospice Association’s 35th year anniversary and 150 butterflies to release in celebrating Canada’s 150th Birthday sponsored by Harmony Honda.

The 5th Annual Butterfly Effect takes place July 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Falcon Ridge Farms, located at 579 Rifle Road, Kelowna.

The cost is $30 per butterfly or three for $90. Purchases can be made online www.hospicecoha.org or by phone at 250-763-5511.
