West Kelowna Warriors set for weekend in the Kootenays

The Warriors sit second in the Interior Conference with four games to go in the regular season

The West Kelowna Warriors are on the road in Trail and Cranbrook for the penultimate weekend of the BCHL regular season.

Coming off a 4-3 overtime loss against Penticton last Friday, March 15, the Warriors are looking to get back into the win column.

Going into the weekend, West Kelowna is second in the BCHL’s Interior Conference with a record of 29-10-11-0, four points ahead of the Salmon Arm Silverbacks and eight points ahead of the Vernon Vipers.

On Friday, March 22, the Warriors take on the Trail Smoke Eaters at Cominco Arena. The Warriors are 3-1-1-0 against Trail this season, who sit fifth in the Interior (25-19-6-0). Puck drop is at 7 p.m.

The following night is a potential first round playoff preview as the Warriors take on the host Cranbrook Bucks, who are 20-27-3-0, seventh in the Interior. Cranbrook has had the Warriors number so far this season posting a 4-1-0-0 record against West Kelowna. Saturday night’s puck drop is set for 6 p.m.

With four games to go, Warriors forward Felix Caron sits third in league scoring with 62 points and fourth in goals with 28.
