Kelowna Rockets forward Tij Iginla proved an immediate asset at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championship, scoring twice as Canada beat Czechia 6-0 in a preliminary-round game.

The top-ranked 2024 NHL Draft prospect got his first goal, shorthanded, less than two minutes into the game.

His second came on a pass from Medicine Hat Tigers forward Gavin McKenna from behind the net that Iginla fired home.

McKenna currently leads all skaters at the tournament with three goals and two assists in two games.

Canada beat Sweden to open the tournament and is 2-0-0-0.

Next up for the Canadians is Switzerland on Sunday, Apr. 28.
