Get ready for some wild fiddle and wacky attitudes when Cod Gone Wild plays at Gatzke Orchards in Lake Country this Sunday.
It’s going to be a festival of rhythms and roots when Cod Gone Wild roll into Oyama on Aug. 5 for an afternoon of Celtic bounce.
While the orhcard’s bounty is sold at the front of the orchard, the area behind the market provides an opportunity for guests to experience live music amidst the agricultural and natural paradise located in the vibrant community of Oyama, the Jewel of the Okanagan.
Cod Gone Wild is a modern world Celtic band, based in the Okanagan Valley.
The Cods have melded veteran musicians from diverse musical backgrounds such as folk, rock, jazz and funk, to create a modern Celtic sound with driving rhythms and tight vocal harmonies.
Cod Gone Wild was born when Newfoundlander and lead singer/guitarist Andrew Mercer made the move to British Columbia in 2009. With him he brought a passion for traditional Irish/Newfoundland music and a vision to create something unique in British Columbia and Canada, while promoting the culture, heritage and music that he has grown up listening to and performing since he was five.
With the musical team of Anjuli Otter (fiddle, vocals), Chad “Rhino” Carter (drums, vocals) and Roy Kawano (bass) the vision has become a reality and has evolved into something unique.
