At Lake Country Building Centre a fundraiser was held over the weekend to benefit the Lake Country Boys and Girls Club. The event was part of the Timbrkids initiative that the company takes part in each year.
On a chosen day Lake Country Building Centre sets aside one per cent of all sales. Timbrkids matches the sum and the total is donated to a local youth charity.
This year’s donation is still being tallied but is expected to be close to $1,000 say Keith and Sherri Williams of Lake Country Building Centre. In addition the Boys and Girls Club spent the day selling hot dogs to customers and raised $500 on its own.
The Williams’ wish to extend a thanks to their staff and to Gordie from Boyds for supplying the 57 Chevy barbeque.
“It worked great and it was a hit!” said Keith.
