Lawn bowlers from Vernon cleaned up with wins, as the 55+ B.C. Games wrapped up over the Sept. 14 weekend.
Hosted in Salmon Arm, the lawn bowling competition saw numerous athletes compete in a slew of age categories. Vernon brought 13 of their own from their Lawn Bowling Club.
In the 55+ men's pairs, a silver medal went to Moe Ball and Don Hunter. Bob Hill and Scott Blain took gold in the 70+ men's pairs while Brenda Madill and Ann Reed took silver in the 70+ women's pairs, and bronze went to Elaine Hanson-HIll and Claudia Sauder.
Gold and silver in the 55+ mixed pairs also went to Vernon teams, as Christine and Keith Kashuba (gold) and Candace Sokalski and Moe Ball (silver) claimed the medals.
The 70+ mixed pairs gold went to Elaine Hanson-Hill and Bob Hill, with bronze being won by Nancy Spiers and Don Bigelow.
Finally, in the mixed fours event, silver in the 70+ age bracket went to the team of Bigelow, Blain, Sauder and Ezequiel Pescada. Gold in the 55+ age group went to Christine, Keith Kashuba, and Maria and Tom Fugedi.
The four-day Senior Games saw 24 sports be contested, with over 3,000 athletes. Full results can be found at bcseniorsgames.net/results.
