Late July, 28 enthusiastic and talented tennis players met for the Lake Country Tennis Mixed Doubles Tournament on at the Woodsdale tennis courts.

At the end of the day,  Sunday July 28, Darlene Homenchuk and Daryl Harrison emerged victorious 6-4 over Kathy Walraven and Dave Valouch.

Everyone stayed at the end to cheer the finalists on.

Many thanks to Shannon for providing such a great luncheon and snacks throughout the day that was enjoyed by all.

I am again impressed with how local businesses are so generous in sponsoring local sports. Through the generosity of 16 businesses we were able to provide prizes for all participants.

Many thanks to Tim Horton’s, Kel-Lake Greenhouses, Kerry Bourden, Greek House Restaurant, Chantana’s, Subway, ExNihilo Winery, Woody’s Pub, Aspen Grove, Shoppers Drug Mart, IDA Pharmacy, Woodsdale General Store, Lake Country Building Centre, Canadian 2 for 1, Cafe Caliente and Latinesque Dance Studio.

Club play continues on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for ladies, Tuesday nights for men and Friday night and Sunday morning are mixed at the Woodsdale courts. Everyone is welcome.

For membership information, call Lynne at 250-766-2566.
