The Lake Country Tennis club posted some great results at the 55+ BC Games held in Vernon Sept. 12 to 16.

It was an outstanding event and a great time was had by all 3,600 athletes who came from every corner of British Columbia to compete in 27 sports.

Several members of the Lake Country Tennis Club enjoyed playing against some of the 120 tennis players from across the province. The competition was very stiff.

Joe Fabi won bronze in the men’s doubles 75 to 79 event and added another bronze in the mixed doubles 80+.

Darlene Homenchuk won bronze in the women’s doubles 70 to 74 event.

Grant Spelsberg and Garnet Schienbein won silver in the men’s doubles 60 to 64.

Grant Spelsberg won silver in the men’s singles 60 to 64.

Dineka Vandeburgt won silver in the women’s singles 75 to 79.

“Vernon did an amazing job hosting the games and the tennis players are looking forward to playing at next year’s BC games to be held in Kimberly,” stated the Lake Country club.
