The Kelowna Rockets will face the Spokane Chiefs for the second time in less than a week Wednesday night at Prospera Place.

Kelowna was last in action last Saturday, they defeated the Kamloops Blazers 2-1 in overtime. Assistant captain, Kaedan Korczak says that the Rockets are ready build on that momentum when they take on the Chiefs again.

“I think for us to be successful we have to play our game,” said Korczak. “We know our o-zone structure is good against them, it was pretty efficient against them last weekend. We just need to get pucks deep and handle their defencemen.”

The two have only played each other one once so far this season. The Chiefs claimed a 4-0 victory on home ice over the Rockets last Friday night.

The Rockets overtime win over the Blazers gave them only a two point advantage over their biggest rivals in the B.C. division. With 47 points, the Rockets will need to battle hard for the remaining two months of the season to make sure they can book a trip to the playoffs.

Kelowna will play Spokane two more times this season. They have 11 more games against B.C divisional opponents, nearly all of which will be must-wins if the Rockets want to hold on to their playoff spot.
