A Lake Country judo club member will soon be facing the stiffest competition of her young life as she heads to Mission, BC to compete in the BC Winter Games.
Anna Auch, a 13 year old George Elliot high school student, was recently promoted to the green belt level and will depart this week to compete in the games, representing zone 2.
She is the only student from the Lake Country Judo Club to qualify for the games and has been training in judo for four years.
Auch's brother is also a student at the club, however was not old enough to try and qualify.
"Anna is an amazing competitor. Our entire club is behind her and we wish her the best of luck," said club coach Keith Griechen.
The BC Winter Games takes place from Feb. 20 to 23 in Mission.
