Unsafe without sidewalks

I’m have been running on our local streets for over 20 years and the problem seems to be getting worse all of the time.

To the editor:

I’m a runner and have been running on our local streets for over 20 years and the problem seems to be getting worse all of the time.

I’m tired of having to side-step these stupid people and have them look at me like I’m the idiot when I move to the inside of the road and make them go around me on the outside.

The fact is that we have so few sidewalks, especially where the roads are narrow and winding, and it’s unsafe for one person to pass by never mind trying to evade vehicles and pedestrians.

I don’t see why these people can’t be ticketed somehow—either by the RCMP or local bylaw officers.

I really doubt that I’m the only person in town who has this same issue, and with the weather getting warmer and more and more people being out on the roads, it would be a great time to bring attention to this problem.
