Bob passed away peacefully in Vernon Jubilee hospital on January 7, 2018 after a brief illness.
He was born July 15, 1931 in Saskatoon, SK and later moved to BC where he met his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley. Together they raised their family in Victoria where Bob was a teacher at Lansdowne Junior Secondary School.
They later retired to Lake Country, BC where he was actively involved in Lake Country Alliance Church. Bob was best known for his love of sports and spent many hours coaching kids and organizing games that all could enjoy.
Bob is survived by his wife and their children: Malcolm McConechy (Lynne), Colleen Bick (Cliff), Barbara Shields (Pat Portz), Cheryl Bannick (Chris).
He was predeceased by daughter Mary in 2001. Grandpa will also be fondly remembered by fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
All who knew him are invited to a Celebration of Life that will be held at Lake Country Alliance on January 20 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob's name to Lake Country Alliance Church where they will be graciously distributed to a project close to his heart.
