Wet conditions on roads, some routes closed

Motorists should expect wet conditions on roads and highways in the Okanagan

Expect wet conditions on roads and highways in much of the Southern Interior, while some routes are closed because of extreme conditions.

As of Thursday at 6 a.m., these were the following conditions:

Highway 1

Water Pooling 11 kilometres west of Sicamous to Craigellachie

Closed in both directions 2.4 km east of Golden to 17.2 km east of Golden because of high avalanche hazard.

Closed from noon to 4 p.m.,  31 km east of Revelstoke because of avalanche control.

Highway 3

Slippery sections from Princeton to Osoyoos

Highway 6

Water pooling from Vernon to Coldstream

Slippery sections from Coldstream to Cherryville

Highway 8

Closed in both directions 12 kilometres east of Spences Bridge because of mud slide. No detour available

Highway 97

Water pooling from Oyama to Falkland
