Vehicle theft, attempted break in

Lake Country police are looking for suspects in a vehicle theft and attempted break in.

Police are looking the person or persons responsible for the theft of a truck and an attempted break and enter after the front doors to a Lake Country business were smashed in the early morning hours last Thursday.

On July 17, 2014 at 12:38 a.m., the Lake Country RCMP received a report of an attempted break and enter to the Lake Country Liquor Store, 9522 Main St. The front doors to the business had been smashed but it appeared that no entry had been gained.

Video surveillance showed an older model pickup truck make several attempts to smash into the front of the business, causing extensive damage.

At 3:11 a.m., the Kelowna RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on the 500 block of Froelich Road. The black 1986 Chevy pickup was very similar in description to the suspect vehicle used to damage the front doors of the Lake Country Liquor store a few hours earlier.

The vehicle was recovered on Bulman Road later that day.

Police are looking for anyone with information to further either investigation.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Lake Country RCMP, Const. Rigby at 250-766-2288, or the Kelowna RCMP, Const. Angulo at 250-762-3300.
