Valdy to help Camp Owaissi

Concert to benefit Anglican Church Camp on Westside Road.

Canadian folk icon Valdy comes back in the Okanagan next week.

The popular singer songwriter, who penned such Canadian classics as Renaissance, Country Man, Play Me a Rock n’ Roll Song...) will bring his troubadour talent to the Creekside Theatre in Lake Country on Tuesday, March 5.

A multiple Juno nominee and winner over the decades Valdy has agreed to donate his time in an effort to help raise funds and awareness for a youth camp in the heart of the Okanagan – Camp Owaissi.

Best known as the Anglican Church Camp (OAC) on Westside Road, the popular facility has played host to church, cub, guide and scout camps for 63 years. Proceeds from the event will go towards upgrading facilities at the summer camp, as well as the costs of holding the youth camps.

A silent auction will also be included at the event.

Opening the show for Valdy will be local singer songwriter and Executive Director of Camp Owaissi Keith Thom.
