Police are investigating after a multiple vehicle crash in Lake Country sent two men to hospital Monday night.
On August 4, 2014 at 10:15 pm, the Lake Country RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 near Beaver Lake Road.
According to witnesses, a white Cadillac was seen travelling northbound on the highway at a high rate of speed right before the crash. The Cadillac lost control on a curve and crossed into the oncoming lanes where it impacted a Chevrolet Silverado hauling a trailer.
Both occupants of the Cadillac were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The passenger apparently suffered more serious injuries.
An RCMP Collision reconstructionist conducted a detailed scene analysis of the crash to determine the causal factors. That assessment is not yet complete but speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash while alcohol has been ruled out.
A 24-year-old Alberta man could face potential Dangerous Driving charges pending further investigation.
