The son of Lake Country Food Bank manager Phyllis McPherson, Ed Laporte began a trek around Okanagan Lake last week.

Laporte doesn’t have a shore support crew and has mapped out the lake from Vernon to Penticton and intends to camp along the way during a planned six-day journey.

It has been a long time dream of his to paddle Okanagan Lake, and he and his wife are planning to retire to Lake Country from Jasper, AB.

McPherson was on hand to see him off at Safe Harbour.
