UPDATE: Fire starts in kid’s bedroom in Kelowna complex

A house fire was reported Thursday afternoon

Update: 3 p.m.

Platoon captain Tim Light said the fire started in a children’s bedroom of the complex. No one was injured and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

Emergency crews are on scene this afternoon in a house fire on Burtch Road.

The fire started at about 2:30 p.m. this afternoon and smoke can be seen billowing from the roof of the complex, which has multiple units.

Two occupants were home at the time of the fire, but are reported to be safe. Two firetrucks are on scene.

The complex has been evacuated.
