Similkameen man handed 2 years probation for assault with a weapon

A Hedley man found guilty of assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm was handed a suspended sentence on June 5.

Kyle Klassen was charged with assault on Jan. 5, 2022, stemming from an incident in Hedley. The 40-year-old was found guilty on May 18 in a Princeton circuit court.

On Thursday, Klassen once again returned to Princeton court to be sentenced, but instead, a judge placed him on two years probation as well as prohibited him from possessing firearms for two years.
