Sharon McCoubrey earns lifetime achievement award from Okanagan arts council

Lake Country resident announced as the winner of the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan's lifetime achievement award.

She’s been pushing for arts in Lake Country for years and now Sharon McCoubrey has been recognized for a lifetime of artistic endeavours.

McCoubrey has been announced as the winner of the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan’s lifetime achievement award. Over her career McCoubrey has succeeded in integrating two of her passions in her work: Education and community arts.

She is a Professor Emeritus, with a specialization in art education with the Faulty of Education at UBC, Okanagan. She has been given a number of awards for her work in art education and public art. She is currently Past President of the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan, is a director of the Central Okanagan Foundation, Chair of the Lake Country Public Art Commission, is President of the Lake Country Art Gallery Society, and is in her 15th year as Chairperson of Lake Country Artwalk.
