Beginning Monday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. until Friday, Nov. 24 at 7 a.m., the Old Vernon, Rutland and Acland Road intersection will be closed for roundabout construction and detours will be in effect, according to the City of Kelowna.
A transit detour on route #8 University will be in effect with stop closures on Rutland Road, Acland Road and Edwards Road. Temporary stops will be located at Commercial Drive near the Old Rutland Rd North alignment, said the city.
The work is being done by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure as part of the Highway 97 six-laning project. Roundabout finishing work, including curb and gutters, is anticipated next year.
