Kelowna RCMP are looking for assistance in identifying the driver of a vehicle of interest in a suspicious incident Monday afternoon in Kelowna.
On Nov. 15, 2016 at 4:03 pm, the Kelowna RCMP received a report they believed to be a possible attempt to lure a young girl in the area of Collison Road and Rex Road, in Rutland. It was around 3:30 p.m. when a 12-year-old girl was approached by two men seen driving a newer model dark blue hatchback car.
The driver of the vehicle asked the young girl if she wanted a ride home, to which she replied “no,” and the vehicle drove away. The young girl snapped a photo of the vehicle as it departed the area.
The driver of the vehicle has been described to police as:
• Male approximately 52 years old
• Blond or white hair
• Wearing a white T-shirt, an orange sweat band on his forehead and glasses.
The passenger has been described as:
• Male in his fifties
• White hair
• Wearing glasses.
“RCMP would like to encourage the driver or registered owner of the vehicle to come forward and speak with police,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said in a statement released Wednesday afternoon.
