Police take processed marijuana oil and bud off the market

Police discovered two rooms in the basement of the house filled with 163 marijuana plants.

In the garage they discovered a sophisticated set-up for refining marijuana oil. They seized a five-gallon pail full of marijuana oil in the middle of being processed for sale and another three litres of marijuana oil ready for sale.

The value of the ready marijuana oil was estimated at $50,000.

Also seized was 3.6 kg of marihuana bud, $2,000 in cash, five long rifles, paraphernalia used to traffic marijuana oil and a hydro bypass.

A 51-year-old Kelowna man and a 39-year-old Kelowna woman were arrested at the residence and face multiple drug possession and trafficking charges along with theft of hydro.

They were both released on a promise to appear for a court date set in May.
