Police seek suspect after uncharitable theft

Kelowna and area RCMP are looking to identify a suspect after video surveillance appeared to show a man stealing a donation box from a local restaurant last week.

On May 23, at 5:30 a.m., an unknown man ordered food from inside the A&W Restaurant at 2703 Highway 97 N.

While staff was distracted with his order, the man allegedly pocketed a charity coin box from the counter. The suspect left the restaurant with the coin box that contained an unknown amount of cash.

Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the man or his whereabouts is asked to call Kelowna RCMP Const Chenard at 250-762-3300.
