From Donald Trump winning the U.S. presidential election to the wildfire in Fort McMurray a variety of stories made the headlines in 2016.

As the year comes to a close and the holidays wrap up, many Kelowna residents hit the ice at Stuart Park for a family skate.

It was rink side where the Capital News spoke with skaters about what they considered the most impactful news stories of the year.
