Last month, dirt bikers from all over western Canada put rubber to dirt on Revelstoke trails for a big, all-female rally.
The Sixth Annual Triple B Ladies’ Rally took place at Revy Riders Dirtbike Club near Revelstoke on June 17. The event hosted more than 100 female riders, making it the group’s biggest year yet.
“We were so excited to have such a big group of enthusiastic women show up literally and figuratively,” said event founder Eve Northmore in a press release. “Every year, this sport sees more women on the track and trails and we love bringing as many as we can together for some boundary-pushing, some motivating, and a really great time!”
Festivities kicked off at 6 a.m. with yoga and a cold plunge, and didn’t stop until sundown with a performance by Revelstoke’s DJ Spanda. The event also featured group rides for all skill levels, bike demos, team games, motivational speakers, and a bonfire.
They also teamed up with the Revelstoke Fire Department to host a bike wash, raising $315 towards the BC Burn Fund and Muscular Dystrophy Canada according to the Fire Dept.
“We love seeing everyone come together to meet new women to ride with from so many different regions,” said Revy Riders Board Member and Triple B committee member Megan Madden in a press release.
The event was made possible by about 30 local volunteers, including members of the Revy Riders Dirtbike Club, the organizing committee, the set-up crew, guides, sponsors, vendors, photographers, and the Revelstoke Fire Department.
According to Madden, plans are already in the works to host and improve the event again next year.
