Families, community members, and a not-for-profit organization that supports children have all benefited from the generosity of a Kelowna business.

ProducKIDvity recently wrapped up fundraising efforts from a multi-day garage sale, and was able to donate $5,000 to the Child Advocacy Centre of Kelowna and more than $25,000 in child and infant equipment, toys, and books to the community.

After being approached by Building Blocks to purchase their centres in late 2022, ProducKIDvity acquired the Sutherland Avenue location in April 2023.

A news release from ProducKIDvity says it purchased the remaining assets at the Gordon Drive location after Building Blocks took an early buyout from developer, PC Urban, to close the childcare facility.

“We were so excited to be able to fundraise for the Child Advocacy Centre, which is such an important not-for-profit organization in Kelowna,” said Sarah Badinski, community manager of ProducKIDvity.

The company was able to assist many others with a free ‘sale.’

“I met early childhood educators and child care providers, teachers, Ukrainian refugees, and a family that had just arrived from the Philippines,” adds Badinski. ”Everyone was able to gather needed supplies and stop things from going to the landfill.”

ProducKIDvity will open its third Kelowna facility in late 2023 at its new Block on Bernard, and will be able to use a significant amount of the remaining equipment from the Building Blocks Gordon property.
