Lake Country RCMP look for burglary, car theft suspects

Liquor store robbed in Winfield, car stolen from 500-block of Froelich Road in Kelowna.

Lake Country RCMP are actively seeking the  person or persons responsible for the theft of a truck and an attempted break and enter after the front doors to a Winfield business were smashed in the early morning hours last Thursday.

On July 17 at 12:38 a.m., the police received a report of an attempted break and enter to the Lake Country Liquor Store located at 9522 Main St.

The front doors to the business had been smashed but it appeared that no entry had been gained. Video surveillance showed an older model pickup truck make several approaches to the front of the business, causing extensive damage.

At 3:11 a.m., the Kelowna RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on the 500 block of Froelich Road. The black 1986 Chevy pickup was very similar in description to the suspect vehicle used to damage the front doors of the Lake Country Liquor store a few hours earlier. The vehicle was recovered on Bulman Road later that day.

Police are looking for anyone with any information to further either investigation.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Lake Country RCMP, Cst Rigby at 250-766-2288, or the Kelowna RCMP, Cst Angulo at 250-762-3300.
