RCMP are investigating after several Community mail boxes were discovered damaged by Canada Post Thursday afternoon.

On June 2, 2016 at approximately 3:10 pm, the Lake Country RCMP began to receive several reports of mischief to Canada Post community mail boxes located along Cheryl Road, Darlene Road, Middle Bench Road and Oyama Road. A Canada Post employee reported the damage to police, who indicated that not all mail boxes were successfully opened.

“RCMP are unable to confirm at this time whether or not any mail was taken by the thieves,” says Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey. “We are asking for the public’s assistance, anyone who may have surveillance cameras in those areas affected are asked to review their footage and contact police with any possible suspects or suspect vehicles,” adds O’Donaghey.

Residents who find themselves affected are encouraged to contact Canada Post.
