Lake Country MVI sends two to hospital

RCMP and firefighters were on scene at the accident on Highway 97 near Lodge Road Wednesday

A motor vehicle incident in Lake Country sent two individuals to hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Lake Country RCMP assisted Emergency Health Services who were responding to reports of a two vehicle collision near the intersection of Lodge Road and Highway 97 North Wednesday at 1:46 p.m.

“Police have learned that a black Hyundai Elantra, making a left hand turn south bound onto the highway from Lodge Road, was t-boned by a northbound red Honda CRV,” said Kelowna RCMP Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“The driver of the Elantra and a passenger from the Honda were transported to hospital with what investigators believe to be non-life threatening injuries.”

Charges have not been laid at this time and RCMP continue to investigate. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Hwy 97 was down to one lane going south temporarily during the incident.
