Lake Country is launching a photo contest to celebrate the beauty of the municipality.

The District of Lake Country is asking for photos for its Your Website. Your Photos. Your Lake Country contest, which launches Friday, August 4.

The contest is designed to encourage residents, businesses and visitors to capture the beauty of the community for the world to see on a new community website, which is under design now.

Each photo submitted will be considered for use on the website and entered into a draw for a chance to win Creekside Theatre show tickets for four.

“This is a great way for residents of all ages, businesses and visitors to Lake Country to get involved and really show us what makes our community special,” said Reyna Seabrook, corporate services manager. “As we work to improve our website, these photos will add a unique perspective that will showcase what it truly means to be part of our community.”

Lake Country says it wants to to refresh the community website with the goal of making it easier for citizens to find information and to do business with the municipality. While the work to review and improve the web site will take place this fall and winter, citizens, visitors, students and businesses are invited to look through their camera lens and capture what they love best about Lake Country.

The district is accepting photos for the following categories:

· Lakes

· Agriculture

· Wildlife

· Active Living

· Business

· Entertainment

· Special Events

· Arts

· People

The deadline for submission of photos is Friday, August 25, 2017. Each person submitting a photo(s) will have their name added to the draw for a chance to win four tickets to any Creekside Theatre show this Fall/Winter season. Anyone can submit as many photos as they like, but each name will only be entered in the draw once. The draw will take place Monday, August 28th.
