UPDATE: Red light runner allegedly caused Kelowna accident

Two people were sent to hospital with minor injuries after a vehicle allegedly ran a red light and struck a Jeep causing it to roll onto its roof last night in Kelowna.

According to police, a Mazda CX-5 was heading westbound on Harvey Avenue when it allegedly went through a red light and struck a Jeep Wrangler, which was heading northbound in the intersection at Pandosy Street.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. and slowed traffic in the area.

The 29-year-old female driver of the Jeep Wrangler and the 64-year-old male driver of the Mazda CX-5 were taken to Kelowna General Hospital with minor injuries.

Police said the investigation is still on-going.
