Irrigation restrictions are in place in Lake Country. (contributed)

Lake Country residents connected to the Winfield Okanagan Centre Water System must stop all irrigation.

A notice from the district came out at 9:30 a.m. on Monday (June 26) stating a temporary restriction on irrigation will be in place until the evening of June 28.

The district sites increased turbidity levels due to recent rain. The community is relying on Okanagan Lake to supply the water system and avoid a boil water notice.

Questions can be directed to the district on their website or by calling 250-766-6677.
