Rollover on Shannon Lake Road

Icy roads trigger rollover

Shannon Lake Road was closed near Crystal Road while emergency personnel attended the scene.

Two people walked away from a rollover in West Kelowna Tuesday evening.

At about 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle lost control on Shannon Lake Road, rolled over and landed on its side against a power pole.

Shannon Lake Road was closed near Crystal Road while emergency personnel attended the scene.

Cpl. Tania Carroll says it appears the driver lost control on the ice and rolled into the ditch.

The driver and one passenger walked away with only minor injuries.

Icy conditions caused accidents throughout the region Tuesday evening. One crash near Nancee Way on Highway 97 had traffic backed up into Kelowna.
