The B.C. River Forecast Centre has ended a high streamflow advisory.
While the threat of flooding has moderated with more seasonal temperatures in the forecast, the Central Okanagan Emergency Program and local agencies continue monitoring the flow and levels of area creeks and water courses.
"There is still a lot of snow left to melt at the higher elevations. Until the spring runoff threat is reduced, property owners adjacent to creeks and streams and along Okanagan Lake are encouraged to take the necessary precautions to protect their properties," said Bruce Smith, with the Regional District of Central Okanagan.
"With the long weekend approaching, boaters on Okanagan Lake and other area lakes are urged to watch for floating debris that may have been carried into the lakes by the runoff and snow melt in creeks and streams."
People and their pets should stay safely back from creek banks, which may be slippery or subject to erosion from the spring runoff or subject to unexpected rapid rising water levels.

Anyone noticing a potential problem or flooding concern in the Central Okanagan is asked to call the regional fire dispatch at: 250-469-8801. Sandbags are available at local fire halls for any property owner facing imminent danger from flooding.
