Future Shop closes store in Canada

Some to reopen in a week under Best Buy banner, according to early reports

US based Best Buy is closing 131 Future Shop stores today and will re-open t65 of them in a week under the Best Buy banner.

The co. Said a significant number of its Future Shop and Best Buy stores are located near each other, as is the case in Kelowna

Best Buy said the consolidation will result in the loss of about 500 full-time and 1,000 part-time jobs.
