A wildfire in Pool Creek - Cambourne Mill, approximately 90 kilometres south of Revelstoke, is out of control.

The fire first discovered on July 18 by BC Wildfire Service has grown to 870 hectares. It is suspected that the cause of the fire is lightening.

The fire was last updated on July 29. The response to the fire has been made challenging because it originated at mid-elevation on a steep slope. The fire continues to blaze east of Camborne townsite, east of Pool Creek, and is being assessed daily by aircraft.

The Dry Creek area remains under an area restriction which is a legal order that prohibits access to the designated area.
