UPDATE: 12:40 p.m.
This morning’s house fire at the intersection of Rutland Road and Dillman Road, was knocked down quickly according to fire platoon captain John Kelly.
The home did sustain fire, smoke and water damage.
“Three occupants and two pets were home at the time of the fire but were all-able to get out safely,” stated Kelly. “One man was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. The occupants are now in the care of Emergency Support Services as the home is not inhabitable.”
The Kelowna Fire Department responded with four Engines, a command unit, a rescue truck and a safety vehicle with 16 personnel.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by both Kelowna Fire Department and RCMP investigators.

Fire crews have made headway knocking down a blaze in Rutland.
Crews responded to reports of black smoke rising from a home at Robson and Rutland roads.
