Community Task Force on Crime Reduction appointees to be considered by Kelowna council

Kelowna council will consider appointees to the city’s Community Task Force on Crime Reduction at its June 5 regular meeting.

The recommended appointees are:

  • Karen Beaubier - Uptown Rutland Business Association;
  • Mark Burley - Downtown Kelowna Association;
  • Ali Butler - Urban Matters;
  • Ron Cannan - Councillor;
  • Jane Cartwright - Provincial Court Judge, retired;
  • Darren Caul - City Community Safety Director;
  • Ken Doige - Business owner;
  • Tom Dyas - Mayor;
  • Jeff Meyers - Business owner;
  • Dan Price - Kelowna Chamber;
  • Carmen Remple - Gospel Mission;
  • Micki Ruth - John Howard Society;
  • Laura Thurnheer - Okanagan College School of Business.

Mayor Dyas will chair the task force which will provide recommendations to council on community-driven initiatives to reduce crime in Kelowna.

The task force will be in place for a 12-month term, with the ability to extend.
