Cleaner finds gun in local hotel room

Cleaning staff found something out of the ordinary under a mattress in a local hotel room.

On November 20th Police were called to a Hotel, in the 2400 block of Hwy 97 north in Lake Country, after cleaning staff found something out of the ordinary under a mattress in one of the rooms.

At around 2:20 p.m. one of the cleaning staff was making up the bed in the room and found a handgun between the mattress and the box spring. The gun is a smaller calibre semi automatic and Police are investigating the previous hotel clients, who stayed in the room, in order to determine it’s ownership and the circumstances that brought it to where it was found.

The room was not being rented at the time of the handguns discovery.
