An application has been submitted to the District of Lake Country to build a cidery on Goldie Road.

Plans for the two-storey building include a tasting room, outdoor patio and a parking lot.

Council would need to approve a development permit for properties at 1919 and 1983 Goldie Road for the project to proceed.

A staff report notes the properties are identified in the Official Community Plan as agricultural future land use, and are surrounded mainly by agricultural land.

“A proposal for a cidery is encouraged within the farming community by diversifying the economy of the agricultural properties.”

Council will review the application at its July 4 regular meeting.
