Blaze near West Kelowna not expected to grow

Update 5 p.m.

The wildfire near Bear Creek is now being held, meaning it’s not likely to spread past existing boundaries.

The size of the blaze is under one hectare.

Original 2:40 p.m.

BC Wildfire Service is on its way to a wildfire in Kelowna.

Fire dispatch received several calls about a wildfire about three-and-a-half kilometres up Bear Main Road.

Ground crews are responding as well as one helicopter.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
