A big win and a shootout loss for the West Kelowna Warriors during their Alberta road trip on Oct. 25-26.
After dropping five games in a row, the Warriors doubled the Sherwood Park Crusaders 6-3 on Friday (Oct. 25). Jack Pridham (4) had two goals for the Warriors. Owen Drury (1), Callum Hughes (6), Sam LeDrew (5) and Dylan Krayer (5) added singles. Pridham and Hughes each had a powerplay goal.
West Kelowna out shot the Crusaders 41/35 and Dawson Labre made 32 saves for his third win of the season. The Warriors went 2/3 on the powerplay.
On Saturday (Oct. 26) night, the Warriors were down 3-0 after the first period against the Spruce Grove Saints. After scoring twice in the second period, and trading goals in the third, Callum Hughes (7) tied the game 4-4 with 0:46 left in the game. Sam LeDrew (7) scored twice, and Dylan Krayer (6) added a goal during regulation time. Sherwood Park went 2-1 in the shootout for the win.
The Warriors were out shot 36-20 and went 2/5 on the powerplay. West Kelowna’s returns home to Royal LePage Place on Nov. 1 as they welcome the BCHL leading Brooks Bandits. The Warriors are eighth in the Interior Conference at 4-6-2-1-0.
