Love is in the air, and on the stage, at Kelowna Secondary School this February.
The secondary school’s Theatre Company is putting on a mainstage production of Shakespeare In Love with an opening day on Valentines Day (Feb. 14). The show will run until Feb. 24.
Shakespeare In Love is a tale of forbidden romance, suspense, tragedy, and plenty of humour with a few sword fights thrown in, explained KSS theater student Maya Courtney ahead of the show.
Courtney said that the play is appropriate for all ages and would make a fun perfect date-night or family-friendly activity.
Shakespeare In Love is based on the screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard, and was adapted to the stage by Lee Hall. The play is Co-Directed and Co-Produced by KSS teachers, James Long and Doryan Elliott.
The cast and crew is made up of hardworking students who have dedicated countless hours in preparation for the upcoming show, said Courtney.
Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults. Tickets are available at the door and for pre-purchase at app.ticketowl.io.
