Enter your original, delicious and healthy Ambrosia apple recipes for a chance to win culinary prizes.

The BC Ambrosia Growers are challenging home cooks everywhere to present their most original, delicious and healthy Ambrosia apple recipes for a chance to win culinary prizes from Breville. The MORE Orchard to Table Recipe contest runs until December 11, and is an encore to the successful Orchard to Table Recipe contest, which ran in the fall of 2013.

"We were delighted by the overwhelming response to our debut Orchard to Table recipe contest," explains Bruce Currie, president of the New Tree Fruit Varieties Development Council. "We appreciated the myriad of ways that home cooks brought Ambrosia apples from the orchard to the table, and are grateful for the inspiration of so many."

Contestants are welcome to enter as many recipes as they like during the contest period online at ambrosiaapplescontest.com by uploading their recipe and photo along with their contact information. Each recipe must be original and feature Ambrosia apples as the star of the dish.

At contest close, a panel of judges will determine the top three dishes, which will be prepared, as instructed by the recipe, by students in the culinary arts program at Okanagan College. The judges will then determine the first, second, and third best dishes based on the following criteria: Creativity (25%), Taste (30%), Presentation (20%), Use of local ingredients (12%), and Healthiness (13%).

The judges will be chef Stuart Klassen, an instructor of culinary arts at Okanagan College, chef Bernard Casavant, culinary manager for Okanagan College and Bobbie Currie one of the pioneers behind the Ambrosia variety.

The contest closes at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11.
